Infrared ink glasses, also called invisible luminous marks cards reading sunglasses are poker cheating perspective glasses to help players read invisible marks printed on the backside of marked playing cards. These glasses have been specially processed to look like regular sunglasses. It is difficult to detect. They are safe to wear and not harmful for the eyes.
The sunglasses have an IR-filter built into their lenses. This allows them to emit red light and detect IR markings on the card’s back side. The IR signal is invisible to the naked eye and cannot be detected by any other poker cheating device. Only those wearing sunglasses can see the luminous markings on the back of the cards.
Unlike other inks, IR active invisible ink has a strong peak of fluorescence at 793nm. This is outside the visible spectrum for the human eye. It can be made to fluoresce by using visible or infrared light. Then, it can be detected with an IR camera that has a 715nm IR filter like our XNite715.
Unlike other invisible inks, which are printed on transparent materials such as plastic and glass, IR-active invisible ink can be printed on opaque material such as paper. The IR signal is then transmitted through the paper, and can be detected by an IR-sensitive camera with a 715nm filter, such as our XNite. This is the easiest way to use invisible ink.
